SHOP TOUR: CAVALIER

I had the pleasure of stopping by the new shop from designer Jay Jeffers and creative director Michael Purdy, Cavalier in San Francisco. Cavalier takes up the newly remodeled front portion of Jeffers' (a widely celebrated decorator) insanely cool office. The pair were looking for a way to display and have designers source all the amazing goods from their world travels. I especially loved the curated collections of jewelry, decorative accessories and some insane feather skulls by French artist Laurence Le Constant!

GUIDE TO THE L.E.S.

One of my favorite apartments that I've lived in was right in the heart of Manhattan's Lower East Side at Ludlow and Rivington. With pretty much anything I wanted to get into at arms reach or a few stops away on subway, I was a very happy camper. Margo Ducharme, owner of my go to shopping spot Assembly, shared with Vogue a few of her favorite LES spots and I couldn't agree with her picks more. Read more here...

THE REFORMATION

NYC's Lower East Side is a haven for shopping in independently owned, styled and truly bad ass boutiques—gratefully I lived in the heart of it. The Reformation was my go to, for a night out, special occasion or just had too frozen margaritas next door and needed some retail therapy. Alexa Chung recently did a shopping guide of the area with Lucky magazine and here are some snaps of the occasion.

Today's find in Petaluma while sourcing vintage furniture—a mid-century etagere, perfect for displaying all of our Shop goodies!

SPRING FEVER

One of my favorite interior spaces in San Francisco is the store March, on Sacramento Street. It recently underwent a serious remodel and the result is airy and light with a major emphasis on tabletop. They also have a "pantry" of a signature line of jams, vinegars and spices that are beautifully packaged. Check them out at marchsf.com.

FEELING DANDY

Maas & Stacks is one of the best menswear stores in SF, carrying lines such as Patrik Ervell, Norse Projects, White Mountaineering, Wings & Horns and more, which makes it hard to walk out of the store without lusting after something. Usually I just go and browse but recently I couldn't resist this bow tie from No. Hollywood, how perfect!

WILD WILD WEST

Yes, it's that time to switch up gift giving to yourself and give some of them away, sad face. But no need to fret, this Saturday Remodelista is doing their Holiday Market at Big Daddy's Antiques in LA. One of the special vendors that will be there is RTH Shop, Rene Holguin's tiny store on N. La Cienega. After working in visual merchandising for the corporate fashion world (J.Crew, Levi's, Ralph Lauren) she opened her own very thoughtful shop that can be described as "global", "unisex" and very American West. Above are some pics of her shop which are sure to get you to the Remodelista Holiday Market this Saturday, December 10th.

STAY GOLDEN

One of our favorite shops in SF, Reliquary, introduced us to one of our new favorite local designers, Ali Golden. She works mostly in sheers, which is great for fall layering and her color pallet is spot on with cobalt blues and saffron yellows. She has a small shop in Oakland's hot like fire Temescal neighborhood, which is super cute too. Stay Golden Ponyboy, stay Golden.

Going Downtown

First HUF and now Upper Playground is planting some roots in LA. This weekend marked the opening of the 4 stop shop extravaganza for UP and The Last Laughs. Located at 125 E. 6th Street in Downtown, you can find goods from Upper Playground, an art gallery, Mister Cartoon customized vehicles and photo/video from the uber talented Estevan Oriol.
