HOTEL TOUR: WYTHE HOTEL in BROOKLYN

The Williamsburg waterfront recently got a $32 million hotel for some serious bragging rights, the Wythe Hotel and I'm itching to go check it out. They started taking reservations May 1st to rave reviews, I'm sure it doesn't hurt they have two very handsome hoteliers behind the scenes. The farm to table restaurant has a chic rustic bistro vibe which I'm loving and the rooms are quite expansive for NY standards—dinner and romp in a room with a view anyone?

EATING GOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

My two fav cities Brooklyn and SF have a newish eatery each that I've been wanting to check out, so I thought I'd share the love and get your thoughts. Isa (top image) in Williamsburg is the brainchild of architect turned restaurateur Taavo Somer. He calls the looks "primitive modernism" and I'm loving its rustic glory. San Fran's 25 Lusk (bottom image) is located in and old 1917 smokehouse, updated with a contemporary sleek sexy look. Yeah, yeah the food is supposed be banging at both spots too, don't worry!

TOBY'S ESTATE

Coffee lusters rejoice, we now have another dope little coffee shop to sit, read, sip and stare at. Australian cafe Toby's Estate has recently moved to Brooklyn and with the help of New Yorks nemaworkshop built out a great spot with exapansive ceilings and bookshelfs. I'm loving the extra long Chesterfield style sofa with individual tables for a communal yet private experience. Toby's Estate is at 125 N. 6th. See ya there!

YEAH BRO

Scott Campbell, from Saved Tattoo in BK, does some seriously sick and seriously funny tattoos. Peep his work, hopefully we'll have a little piece of art from the man ourselves soon.

Starbucks & Hyperdub

After ordering my soy pumpkin spice latte (quiet !), I put my ear buds back in and pressed play on a little Cooly G. Heard "nice pick" coming from the left. Jumped back, "What ! You don't know me !" After judo chopping dude in the neck for sneaking up on me, ended up having a nice chat with a fellow DJ by night and editorial creep during the day.

He schooled me to the fact there is a nice little dubstep night going on tonight at Hugs in Williamsburg that The Shop might go check out...perhaps we'll see you there (free beer, duh !).
