TOBY'S ESTATE

Coffee lusters rejoice, we now have another dope little coffee shop to sit, read, sip and stare at. Australian cafe Toby's Estate has recently moved to Brooklyn and with the help of New Yorks nemaworkshop built out a great spot with exapansive ceilings and bookshelfs. I'm loving the extra long Chesterfield style sofa with individual tables for a communal yet private experience. Toby's Estate is at 125 N. 6th. See ya there!

WILD WILD WEST

Yes, it's that time to switch up gift giving to yourself and give some of them away, sad face. But no need to fret, this Saturday Remodelista is doing their Holiday Market at Big Daddy's Antiques in LA. One of the special vendors that will be there is RTH Shop, Rene Holguin's tiny store on N. La Cienega. After working in visual merchandising for the corporate fashion world (J.Crew, Levi's, Ralph Lauren) she opened her own very thoughtful shop that can be described as "global", "unisex" and very American West. LOVE, ADORNED

There's a magical moment that happens when elegance meets efficiency, when purpose or a purposeful tool is so beautiful that it must simply be adorned. A new shop on Elizabeth street, appropriately named Love, Adorned caught my eye last weekend for it's mix of vintage and contemporary tools, accessories and jewelry, for yourself, your home or even the road. After opening a successful jewelry/tattoo shop in the lower east side in 1996, creator Lori Leven has expanded her brand to richly encompass beauty and utility. Some of my favorite pieces are the vintage blankets, leather camera straps, hand painted skulls and of course the hand crafted jewelry. Do your self a favor and get adorned.
