PUT A RING ON IT

A Givenchy nose ring—yes, please! Featured in Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy A/W12 menswear show, this bad boy makes me itch to re-pierce the old sniffer.

BARBOUR'S STEVE MCQUEEN

Hailing from San Francisco, Steve McQueen's epic car chase in Bullitt was an image I remember from very early on. An icon in many eyes for his roles and fearless attitude, it's only fitting that Barbour has come out with a Steve McQueen inspired menswear collection that will have all boys ready to rev their engines.

MAN OF MYSTERY

Prada slayed their Fall/Winter 2012 collection in Milan this weekend with a star studded runway event that featured some of Hollywood's leading men in sumptuous overcoats, dark pallets and textured details. The cast of characters Muiccia Prada chose for the show were so fitting yet allowed the clothes to really shine. The red double-breasted overcoat that Adrien Brody wears above, with the fur collar, is sure to foreshadow an onslaught on gentlemanly dressing I could definitely get use to.

COME AND GIVE ME SOME

The above looks are from Balmain's Spring/Summer 2012 collection and are very true to their chic rocker vibe. I can totally see both sexes rocking these looks: skinny pants, tuxedo jackets and vests all mixed with leather details—raaarrwww!

FEELING DANDY

Maas & Stacks is one of the best menswear stores in SF, carrying lines such as Patrik Ervell, Norse Projects, White Mountaineering, Wings & Horns and more, which makes it hard to walk out of the store without lusting after something. Usually I just go and browse but recently I couldn't resist this bow tie from No. Hollywood, how perfect!

GET HANDSOME

One of the best pop-up's that I've been to is the Pop Up Flea in NYC that happens once a year, focusing on new and vintage menswear. So many inspiring vendors, products, leather goods, fabrics, accessories, raw denim, mustaches, cuffed pants, happy socks, ahhhh! For some serious man stalking and shopping be there December 2-4 at 159 Bleecker.

UNIONMADE / A CONTINUOUS LEAN

A staple of perusing the web for me is checking in with Mr. A Continuous Lean. To my delight his most recent post is on Unionmade, one of the dopest menswear stores in SF and probably anywhere.

He takes some great shots showcasing the shop and chronicles his conversations on "heritage". Here's an excerpt: "Visiting the shop and seeing the selection and careful merchandising, it’s no wonder that stuff is flying out the door. It’s a funny thing too, because the “heritage” obit is in the paper everyday. Heritage is a sneaky little bastard like that, all refusing to die and everything. Refusing to allow the growing segment of young creatives who view themselves as “real” blue collar dudes to stop being so pissed off because a bunch of “hipsters” co-opted their shit." PATTERN ON PATTERN

My co-worker Mario Lopez-Cordero is the dapper don of the office. He always looks thoughtful and well put together, but so fun and cute at the same time! Today I'm loving his blue and white pinstripe shirt, polkadot tie and check pocket square—all finished off with a navy blazer and jeans. Yummy

KINGS & QUEEN

Above are some of my favorite shots of McQueen's men's Fall 2011 show...such an amazing collection. The draping, the fabrics, the unexpected models and expected flair from the fashion house we all love.

And here are some fav's from Mugler's show. Clear are Gaga's stylist Nicola Formichetti's influences and evident is a return to sinister. We love it !

A FEW GOOD MEN

While recently in the city by the bay, The Shop came across an amazing menswear store called Union Made Goods. The shop features an excellent assortment of international brands, focusing on quality wear and materials. Only sourcing pieces that will get better with time, wear and age. If you are in SF, check out the shop at 493 Sanchez Street. Make sure to check out the handmade denim jackets, luxurious pea coats and Wolverine boots.

JD FISK

A newish men's store has opened on Rivington and Stanton, thanks to the peeps behind Dolce Vita. Carrying a line of mens boots and shoes, along with a large collection of Shades of GreyJD Fisk hits some good notes with the simple layout, friendly dude working and some classic boots, trenches, sweaters and accessories thrown in. Yee-haw cowboy, get some.

Pour Some Layers On Me

While menswear trapses down the runways this week, we thought we'd show you what the street scene outside the shows is all about. Layers in all diferent textures and sizes seems to be captivating the very sexy men of Milan. We're especially into the layering with denim...something very rugged yet refined about it. Teddy Boy

Cruising down Allen St in the LES, The Shop came across a fairly new menswear boutique that has got us all hot and bothered. Teddy Boy, a British term from the 1950's for a tough youth wearing a modified style of Edwardian clothes, has a well edited, styled and handsome store at 164 Allen. Exposed wood floors and beams mixed with vintage furniture, projectors, cameras and sunglasses all set the tone for the beautifully tailored menswear that is all part of the Teddy Boy line. Satin shorts, slim suits, salvaged boots, clean button downs and a great vintage tie collection.

Go Gently Into the Night

We've been gone for a minute, sewing our wild oats in Cali but were finally back in NYC and ready to get back on our grind. To start things off here is a perfectly styled line from popissue, to get us back in a New York state of mind. We're feeling the layered looks playing with proportion.

Reading Does A Body Good

In reading through Wallpaper's new issue, there is a great piece on Fashion's "Young Guns". Former fashion editor of V Magazine, Patrik Ervell, is profiled and among the line that caught our eye, were the Alexander McQueen for Puma sneakers. Perhaps we'd feel them a bit more in a different color, but here are some more detailed pics (notice the skeleton sole), for your viewing pleasure.
