One of our favorite zine's The Bold Italic will sponsoring the event at the California Academy of Sciences, which should make for a very fun and very trippy night. Disco/post-punk DJ's, video instillations and interactive instruments may have you swimming with the fishies at the end of the night!

CHAIRLIFT

Getting pumped to see Chairlift next week, so I thought I'd shine some light on thier new album if you haven't heard it yet. Something was produced by Hot Chip's Dan Carey and takes risks vocally and sonically which all pay off. Their electro vibe is hot to trot but the dark undertones are my favorite parts. Get some—all the cool kids are doing it.

Really feeling JMSN's new album Priscilla, especially the above single "Alone". He's got a Weeknd vibe, white boy Drake vibe—more importantly this musak is bangin' vibe.

TOUCH

R&B emotion + heavy bass + a bit of house = Holy Other. Their single Touch is so good!! Sounds a bit like Washed Out and How To Dress Well wrapped into a naughty tootsie roll.

GET GRIMEY WITH IT

Think Whitney Houston's voice all synth'd out to indie pop beats and you get Grimes' album, Visions.  I've been blasting this album all day in the office which makes for great impromptu coffee fueled dance parties. Get on it, this girl's got something special going on.

WITH JUST ONE GLANCE

Download this now, for real. Electro producer Nicolas Jaar creates fire with the track "With Just One Glance", vocals are by Demi Moore and Bruce Willis spawn, Scout LaRue Willis.

Here's a banger from another Bay Area band The Soft White Sixties, that I can't stop listening to—it's got a a real rock n' roll vibe that is deserving to be on repeat.

Really digging indie rock band Geographer. Their album Animal Shapes, which you can download here, has been described as charming and danceable which I totally agree with while adding thoughtful in lyric and production. Proud to back these Bay Area boys.

MOODY BLUES

At first listen the jury was still out but after pumping Baths new album, Cerulean, though the airwaves I can attest that it's good, real good. Could be categorized as Indie-Electronica sounding like RJD2, Bonobo and a little FlyLo thrown in there. I've been digging "Rain Smell" and "Your My Excuse To Travel". The 21 year old from LA seems to be bursting with creativity, producing sounds obscure enough to derive your own meaning from and moody enough to satisfy any craving. The Cabinet Shop
