JD FISK

A newish men's store has opened on Rivington and Stanton, thanks to the peeps behind Dolce Vita. Carrying a line of mens boots and shoes, along with a large collection of Shades of Grey.  JD Fisk hits some good notes with the simple layout, friendly dude working and some classic boots, trenches, sweaters and accessories thrown in. Yee-haw cowboy, get some.

SPRINKLE SOME TRUFFLE ON IT

The truffle egg toast at Inoteca is the most delicious mound of goodness, I do declare. Thick brioche with two eggs sittin' pretty inside, covered with cheese and dripping in truffle oil. Try the homemade strawberry mint bellini to wash it down. God damn I'm salivating just writing this !

Got Your Balls in a Bunch

As it happens at least once or twice a week from the hours of 1 to 4 a.m we find ourselves getting down on some tasty meatballs at the newly infamous Meatball Shop. Located on Stanton between Orchard and Allen, the Meatball Shop is always poppin, serves beer and wine, is open late and leaves you wanting more. Mark on the dry erase menus everything from what kind of balls you want, what you want them served over or under, if you want them sandwich or slider style....oh yeah and if you want a homemade ice cream cookie sandwhich for dessert. And don't worry,  they've heard plenty of ball jokes so make sure you think of a good one before stepping foot in the joint. (Image courtesy of phude)

YARN BOMBING

Until recenly I was unaware of the phenomenon of "yarn bombing". Started as a way to use scraped knit and croched pieces, this street application of the craft has taken off. While perusing the streets of the LES last weekend, with our lil brother Linguine Leo, we came across this amazing bike that had been yarn bombed in a pink camouflage pattern - so sick !!

Ze Wingmaster

For all those that want to come challenge The Shop and our "Wingmaster" status, pay attention. Tonight at Blue Seats (a superb sports bar in the LES) has .25 cent wangs and 1/2 price dranks from 5-8 pm. That spicy sauce tastes so good when it hits your lips, nom nom nom !

Pop Goes That Booty

For pretty good indie rock tunes, free popcorn and dimly lit interiors offset by glowing red candles and black leather booths, go to Stanton Public at 17 Stanton in the LES. The Shop started our night off there and ended up at Home Sweet Home, where a certain someone couldnt stop poppin' that booty !
