Last night The Shop hit up the one and only, Amateur Night at The Apollo. It was our first experience there and we have to say quite a good one ! Although we didn't partake in the pints of Alize, we did sit front and center for what seemed like a sociological expirament. Most of the performers were vocalist belting out well known songs, which to be honest was a bit lackluster. However a few highlights came in the form of one of the baddest Michael Jackson inspired dancers I have ever seen and a spoken word gangster in a baby blue suit.Definetly a fun night to go check out. However, if you're in the mood for something similar with more of an independant spirit, hit up the Nuyorican Poetry Cafe in the LES for some serious poets and freestylist that keep your head bobbing.
Damn, I love New York !
