If You're Not Going To Be Watching The Game...

...then you might want to check out Movie Night at Dolores Park. Tonight, It Came From Outer Space, is playing at 8:30 p.m with The High Decibels (sounds like Too Short over some blues guitar) performing at 7:15 p.m.

Lamps Are The New Pets

Moooi's new line looks like you might have raided Grandma's house, but the material and content gives it a fresh and funky twist.

More Quilted Detailing...

The WTAPS x Vans collaboration brings more quilted detailing to men's footwear. Recently a Cabinet member found a WESC quilted patterned, puffy jacket at Jeremy's for about half the original price, the Ed Lover dance ensued...
We are enjoying the quilted trend and thinking there's about to be alot more of it for the fall...
Ups to HighSnobiety for the imagery.

A Pinny For The Summer

One of our tigers, The Vintage Society, recently reminded The Shop ladies that the Pinafore Dress is the perfect little piece for summer. The below checked Pinafore from SEA NY, is on the wish list...

Forecasting

Looks like Nylon took a nod from The Cabinet Shop in calling out The "Addicted to Love" look, we shouted out a while back.

Tonight !

Toronto duo, Crystal Castles, is playing at The Independent tonight. The Shop has a few tigers going, we can't wait to hear about it...

An Amerykah We Can Believe In

The Roots/Erykah Badu show at The Paramount theater last night was seriously impressive. Upon walking into the theater we were struck with the ornate attention to every Art Deco detail: embellished curtains, gilded walls - a photographers dream to shoot it. But back to the lecture at hand - The Roots killed it with Capt. Kirk channeling Jimi Hendrix. After a retro set change Ms. Badu came out, with a full band, 4 backup singers, a personal drum machine and a passion and soulfulness we have to encounter. Sporting her signature afro, some chucks and a red plaid suit - her dance moves, her playfulness and her powerful voice struck a chord in us and left us wanting so much more. Highlights came in the form of Soldier, off her new album, On & On, off Baduizm and ending with Tyrone (whilst standing on the seats in the first few rows) was a crowd pleaser. If you get a chance to go see this show, it will not disappoint.

All In The Details

Part moccasin, part sneaker - cant get much better. We can't wait for the Taka Hayashi x Vans pack to come out. The Shop boys are already putting dibs on who gets what - seems the seal brown leather is most popular round here.

Jam On It

These Sir Jam Mid Retro sneaks (out July) are making us want to break out the airbrusher that is packed away in one of the back cabinets! Image via EightysFresh

Ghost Ride the Hero

This last Thursday marked the opening of the Michael Sieben show at Fifty24SF Gallery. It looks like a great show with lots of humor wrapped into the sculptures, paintings and screenprints. Lower Haight is surely on and poppin' as of late...

Heart to Heart

One of our favorite boutiques in NYC - I Heart - has just started a blog, selling their wares (United Bamboo, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel etc...) accessories and special compilations that fly out of the store. Whenever we are in Nolita we make sure to stop by the shop, so we are pumped that one of our tigers has joined us on the web.

Peering Forward

Monday's are always a little rough on The Shop, so we focus on what is coming as to keep positive about the week ahead and this week is shaping up to be seriously fun. Here's what we've got...join if you can.

Tonight we've got the legendary Mz. Badu with The Roots at the Paramount Theater in Oakland - so excited !!!!

Wednesday we will be going to the John Varvatos boutique opening in SF...

...and finally Sylvia Ji opens at Whitewalls on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Pick up a 40 and join in on the fun!
