Flashing Lights

A special Cabinet member, just picked up this little gem - The Diana F+. The camera is known for its "dreamy" images and various shooting styles. Hoping not to make our Holga jealous, we'll be sneaking Diana out today and she what she finds...

Insane In The Membrane

Scaling things down and keeping it low pro is a philosophy The Shop is all for, so when we came across Brad Staba and Reese Forbes new venture Skatemental - we were pumped. Small distribution of shirts, decks, some accessories and a highly anticipated video on the way, Skatemental is unpretentious and a bit raunchy - just what we love. Besides blasting Nicky T on your site makes everything better...

The Player Met A Virgin, Had A Virgo, Named Him Sean

A few family members of The Shop went to go see Atmosphere in San Francisco last night and had too good of a time. The venue was the Grand Regency Ballroom, which strangely felt like we were going to prom more than seeing a show, but in no way did it hold us back. Slug was a more soulful artist this tour, bringing with him a keyboardist, guitarist, female vocalist and as always the lovable DJ Ant. It seems with age and perhaps the long hair, he has become more self-aware and less angry - down to put on a great show. Showing lots of love to SF, he gave us everything from "God Loves Ugly" to "Shoulda Known". Check out the new album When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, it won't disappoint.

His name is Ryan and he's 18

A special friend of The Shop's has a serious talent and we had to let you in on it. He is young, he has a beautifully painful voice and he makes our heart skip a beat. He may be soft and subtle now but we are seeing signs of a serious rock star on our hands. Hailing from our home town Santa Rosa, we present to you - That Ghost.
Thanks to Big Daddy Murray for shining that little light of his on the subject.

Pretty Naked Things - Tonight in SF

Tonight in San Francisco Ryan McGinely's show, Spring And By Summer Fall, opens at Ratio 3 Gallery. Doe-eyed and innocent his naked subjects seem, frolicking in what could be their natural habitat. If you're out and about tonight, stop by and let us know what you think. Thanks to Ryan W, for the heads up.

Keepin' It Clean

We like to recognize the importance of keeping things fresh and clean, such as that beloved pair of sneakers, so here is another way to keep it together. The desk organizer is made from ceramic and felt, with walnut base - satisfying our obsession with woodgrain.
This sexy lil' piece is from Kaiju Studios.

Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture

Taschen's The Polaroid Book is surely an item to collect. Over 280 highly edited images, from the famous Polaroid Collection in Boston (who knew they had one), are comprised here.
You can find it at Unsaleable.
On a similar note - Andre 3000 was wrong, shaking a Polaroid is not something you should be doing, your butt cheeks on the other hand...we're all for that.

Microphone Check

We're loving the Solo Pendant from Re-Surface (http://www.re-surface.net/). The Cabinet Shop is thinking about hanging a few dozen from the ceiling at various lengths, then turning all the main lights off...mayhem might ensue.

Forever Young

Here are a couple pieces from Orisue's Spring 08 lookbook, a highlight from the collection being the red cardigan (just like Hansel - so hot right now). The line rounds itself out with some unique t-shirts for those hot August nights. Check out the rest at: http://www.orisue.com/weblog/lookbook.shtml.

Tailgating is Awesome!

The Cabinet Shop recently went to an A's game and spent the majority of time in the parking lot. The Baby Webber was smoking, the yellow dunks were getting lots of shout-outs; it was all around a great experience. The amount of love the Bay Area has for its sports teams is palpable. High fives and Starter jackets in full effect...what more could you want.

Bad Bitches

Dimepiece’s new look book is filled with sexy and lean silhouettes: part rocker, part hip hopster, mostly sex kitten - some looks reminiscent of Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love”, a favorite look of ours, which we hope to be seeing more of.
